Frequently Asked Questions
It's natural to have questions as you begin therapy. Below you'll find the answers to common questions. My hope is to ease some of the uncertainty, and then I can address additional questions or concerns during our initial consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our consultation call is a time we can use to determine if my services are a good fit for you. We'll discuss what you're looking for, your needs, and my services. You'll be able to ask me questions you have regarding therapy, my treatment approach, and my specialties. If my services match what you're looking for as well as availability, we'll then schedule your first session.
-
After the initial phone consultation, we'll meet for each session via video call. Before our appointment, you'll receive an email that includes the link to join the video call. You can use a smartphone or computer with camera capabilities to attend the session.

I am an out-of-network provider, so I am not in-network with any insurance companies. If you have out-of-network benefits and would like a monthly statement (superbill) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, please let me know.
Potential clients are advised to contact their insurance before treatment begins to learn of their coverage and benefits.

Clients are billed per session. Payment is accepted via a HIPAA-compliant credit/debit card payment system. Payments from Health-Savings Accounts/Flexible-Spending Accounts are accepted.

Clients canceling at least 48 hours in advance of their appointment will avoid being charged for it. Clients canceling within 48 hours of their appointment will be charged for the full session.

In accordance with federal law, I provide self-pay clients with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) prior to their first appointment and as necessary to best reflect the current treatment plan. Per the law:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
